Salome Asega is an artist and researcher based in Brooklyn, NY. She is currently a Technology Fellow in the Ford Foundation's Creativity and Free Expression program and Director of Partnerships at POWRPLNT, a digital art collaboratory in Brooklyn. Salome has participated in residencies and fellowships with MoMA, Eyebeam, New Museum, The Laundromat Project, and Recess. She has exhibited and given presentations at the Shanghai Biennale, Performa, EYEO, and the Brooklyn Museum. Salome received her MFA from Parsons at The New School in Design and Technology where she also teaches.

Roots in India, hailing from Atlanta, inspired by Oakland: Meghna Mahadevan is passionate about inclusive local economic development, particularly through a tech lens. After completing her degree in industrial engineering, she spent her first three years in the Bay Area supporting small business growth with Facebook, Google, and Snap Inc. In response to the intense inequity she witnessed, Meghna pivoted to form and lead the iLab, a tech accelerator for black and brown Oakland-based founders powered by the Kapor Center. Next, Meghna designed West Oakland's first tech hub and she currently works to build strategic partnerships for the Kapor Center Foundation. She serves as an advisor for ICA Fund Good Jobs Accelerator, on the SMASH Academy Advisory Board, and is an active Urban Leader Fellow alum, prioritizing her commitment to serving under-resourced folx. In her spare time, you'll find Meghna DJing a set downtown, orbiting Lake Merritt, or in the window seat of an airplane.

Music Partnerships Manager, Twitch | @athenakoumis

Athena is a Music Partnerships Manager at Twitch based in New York City. Originally from Sacramento, CA, Athena has a first-hand understanding of how artists, audiences and algorithms intersect resulting from working in music and technology the past 7 years. She started her career as an intern at The Echo Nest where she worked her way up to leading the company’s Data Curation team in the span of a few years and joined Spotify during its 2013 acquisition of the music intelligence platform. At Spotify, she led the Data Curation team in improving music culture data used in consumer features such as Fans Also Like and Radio before becoming an Editor where she curated over 50 official playlists for the platform. Outside of work, Athena can be found DJing around NYC and at The Lot Radio where she holds a monthly residency.

Ruth Gebreyesus is a writer, editor and producer based in the Bay Area. Her writing can be found in SSENSE, The Fader, KQED and SF MoMA's Open Space. She's presented on black digital creative production at the Oakland Museum of California with the Real Future Fair and at the New Museum with Rhizome.
